Why Work With Me?

Because you want a unique way to tell your story, through the city you love and its landmarks. When you order a custom map, building portrait or travel poster, you are very much involved in the process. You choose the landmarks that are important to you, showcase the buildings you love and tell your personal story in connection to your location. Please read my terms here.

Materials

  • I use archival, acid-free paper to ensure your artwork’s longevity

  • Permanent, lightfast artist pens to reduce light and water damage

  • Winsor & Newton watercolor

  • Prismacolor colored pencils

Process

The entire process takes from 4 to 8 weeks depending on the number of items selected, and round of sketches.

  • Select your city and favorite landmarks.

  • Contact me and we can set up a time to discuss your project and the story you’d like to tell with your new custom map.

  • A 50% deposit is required before work starts on your project.

  • Once we’ve narrowed down the landmarks to include, I’ll provide you with an initial round of sketches.

  • After you’ve picked the sketch that makes your heart flutter, I can make any changes that are needed for the second round of sketches (first round of revisions) and send those back to you.

  • After I have the go-ahead from you, the final stages will begin.

  • The map will be marked down in pencil in the final size and a watercolor wash will help establish the main colors of each building or landmark.

  • Next, each element will be defined farther using colored pencils. This is when the map colors become more vibrant and contrasting.

  • The finishing touches are applied using artist pens.

  • Now your custom artwork is ready to be shipped!

  • You'll receive a low-resolution version of your final piece to have and to hold while the original work is being mailed.

Copyright & Reproductions

Although you will own the original artwork, I retain the copyright. Please read my terms here

What does that mean?

The object cannot be scanned and reproduced and/or sold without a written statement from yours truly (moi).

Exceptions

If you are ordering a map to reproduce on wedding or event invitations, our agreement will contain wording stating that this is a-ok.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

It was a pleasure working with Natalie on designing a debutante party invitation. She was able to satisfy the taste of 3 families, and that is not always easily done! She captured all of their favorite things and wrapped them in to one beautiful drawing. We can't wait to work with her again!

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Natalie, has a natural creative talent which springs from her soul. Her ability to become inspired, by what others may see as ordinary, is part of her talent. The other part is pure artistic ability. The drawing she did of our property is full of whimsy, fabulous color and attention to even the tiniest details. She creates and delivers more than you would expect, so just hire her now. You won't regret it.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

I am IN LOVE with my save the dates! Natalie was incredibly easy to work with, giving me tons of design options, font options, and concepts all along the process. Her prices are on par with many local print shops, but with her you get the added bonus of the original painting of your custom artwork. I am so impressed with our design and can't wait for my wedding guests to start receiving them. I cannot recommend natARTlie enough for custom wedding artwork that will wow you and your guests!
